Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
8 years of experience in product design or UX.
Experience in motion design related to physics, patterns, and visual design elements.
Experience working with Designers, Researchers, Engineers, Content Strategists, and Product Managers throughout the design process.

Preferred qualifications:

Master's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

As a Motion Designer, you’ll apply your passion for animation to simplify complex interactions and solve challenging design problems. You’ll help define and implement Google’s motion design language and you’ll think critically about how motion reinforces Google’s UX brand, enhances interactivity, and delights our users.

In this role, you will help deliver a cohesive motion system for all of YouTube’s products.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $178,000-$265,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

Act as a constant source of motion design inspiration to the YouTube UX organization.
Partner and consult with feature teams to craft new ideas that deliver on the philosophies and capabilities of the motion language.
Build partnerships with engineering to push the boundaries of how motion can be implemented efficiently and at scale across multiple products.
Own and maintain design, management, and maintenance of motion libraries.
Own and maintain documentation in specs and playbooks.
