Key Responsibilities:
- Direct Patient Care:Administering medications, monitoring vital signs, providing wound care, assisting with daily living activities, and ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Patient Assessment and Monitoring:Regularly assessing patients' conditions, observing for any changes, and reporting significant findings to the supervising nurse or physician.
- Medication Administration:Accurately administering prescribed medications according to established protocols and monitoring for any adverse reactions.
- Documentation:Maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medication administration, vital signs, assessments, and any changes in patient condition.
- Patient and Family Education:Providing information about medications, treatments, disease management, and preventative care to patients and their families.
- Collaboration:Working closely with physicians, other nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes.
- Supervision:May supervise and guide junior nurses, nursing students, and other healthcare staff.
- Emergency Response:Responding to emergency situations, providing immediate care, and assisting with patient stabilization.
- Maintaining a Safe Environment:Ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients, including proper infection control practices.
- Advocacy:Advocating for patients' needs and ensuring they receive appropriate care and support.
