Core Responsibilities
- Patient Monitoring & Assessment: Continuously monitor newborns' vital signs, respiratory and neurological functions, and overall health status, responding quickly to any signs of distress or deterioration.
- Specialized Care: Administer specialized treatments, medications, and nutritional support to manage the complex needs of critically ill or premature infants.
- Equipment Management: Operate and maintain specialized NICU equipment such as ventilators and incubators to provide life-sustaining care.
- Care Planning & Collaboration: Work with neonatologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement comprehensive, individualized care plans.
- Family Support & Education: Provide emotional support and guidance to parents and families, educating them on their newborn's condition, basic care, and home care procedures.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting observations, treatments, and progress in the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Safety & Infection Control: Ensure a safe and sterile environment within the NICU to prevent infections and other complications.
