About our Staff Physician position
A board-certified/board-eligible physician with demonstrated clinical expertise and a strong commitment to reproductive justice. This outpatient-based physician will provide comprehensive reproductive health services including contraception and family planning, miscarriage management, advanced gynecologic care, pelvic ultrasound with interpretation, and gender-affirming hormone therapy. The physician will also serve as a clinical leader and mentor for affiliate advanced practice clinicians (APCs), supporting high-quality, evidence-based care across the health center network.
What you will be doing!
Fosters a culture of quality care and service improvement and excellent patient safety. Participates in the delivery of services by providing family planning/women’s health services, advanced gynecology including colposcopy/LEEP, miscarriage management, pregnancy ultrasound, gender affirming care, and vasectomy services as scheduled. Serves as collaborating physician and clinical mentor for a subset of APCs. Contributes to the team effort of the agency, thereby ensuring quality care and services for patients. Other duties as assigned may include, but not limited to, clinical audits, service expansion, support of research studies, etc.
Key Responsibilities:Clinical care inclusive of, but not limited to:- Family planning
- Gender Affirming care
- Difficult contraception
- Advanced gynecology
- Colposcopy, and LEEP
- Obstetric and gynecologic ultrasound
- Miscarriage management (medical and aspiration)
- Potential to travel to other affiliate states to provide abortion services
- Opportunities for vasectomy training
Mentorship & Oversight:- Provide clinical oversight, education, and mentorship to nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and certified nurse-midwives across assigned clinics.
- Participate in routine chart review, quality improvement activities, and continuing education for APCs.
- Serve as a resource for case consultation
- Supports the training activities for internal staff, and external students and medical residents.
Collaboration & Systems Leadership:- Work closely with clinical operations, medical leadership, and quality teams to support efficient, equitable, and safe care delivery.
- Contribute to provider onboarding and staff training in clinical protocols and cultural humility, including gender-affirming care.
- Participate in affiliate-wide initiatives to improve access, reduce disparities, and align with national best practices.
Operations and Quality
- Rotates on-call with the affiliate physician leadership.
- Supports the achievement of productivity and financial objectives of Clinical Services and affiliate.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with universal precautions, WISHA, CLIA, PPFA, and affiliate policies and procedures.
- Fosters a collaborative environment
- Adheres to the state, regulatory, and affiliate code of conduct and all policies, procedures and protocols.
- Demonstrates and maintains a high degree of professionalism.
Minimum Qualifications:
MD or DO with completion of accredited residency (OB/GYN or Family Medicine, Internal Medicine with reproductive health emphasis)
Active medical license in IN and KY, can be licensed in Washington, Alaska, Hawaii, Idaho, as requested
DEA license (or eligibility) in practicing states
Proficiency in early pregnancy ultrasound and aspiration techniques preferred
Commitment to trauma-informed, patient-centered, and inclusive care
Work Environment & Travel:
Clinical work primarily based in regional affiliate health centers. Typical travel between locations < 60min, but occasionally may require additional travel
Travel to western affiliate states for abortion provision possible
Participation in rotating on-call or telehealth coverage may be required
Salary Range:
$129,539 – $240,572 Annually – Exempt
