Staffing Coordinator

The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for ensuring adequate nursing staff coverage for all open shifts within the facility. This position manages the on-call phone Monday through Friday during business hours, coordinates staffing needs, and works closely with nursing leadership to maintain appropriate staffing levels.

Responsibilities include:

  • Finding coverage for open nursing shifts and filling staffing vacancies as they arise.

  • Managing the on-call phone Monday through Friday during business hours.

  • Posting the daily staffing schedule throughout the facility to maintain compliance with CMS regulations.

  • Maintaining and updating the monthly nursing department schedule.

  • Communicating staffing changes and updates to nursing staff and leadership.

  • Assisting with scheduling, staffing reports, and other staffing-related administrative duties.

  • Providing direct resident care and assisting on the nursing floor during working hours as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Current CNA certification required.

  • Previous healthcare staffing or scheduling experience preferred.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

  • Knowledge of long-term care staffing requirements and CMS regulations preferred.

This position plays a vital role in ensuring quality resident care by maintaining appropriate staffing levels and supporting the nursing team as needed.
