Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Standard Cell Characterization Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, characterizing, and supporting standard cell libraries while ensuring optimized power, performance, and area (PPA). This role requires strong technical expertise in circuit design, EDA tools, and automation scripting, along with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and provide ongoing support for standard cell libraries.
• Perform PPA trade-off analysis across different cell architectures.
• Collaborate with layout teams on floor plans, schematics, and layout guidelines.
• Design and implement combinatorial, sequential, and power management circuits.
• Conduct equivalence verification (e.g., ESPCV) for developed designs.
• Verify functionality, performance, and power of circuits.
• Perform characterization and view generation across multiple PVT corners.
• Support Place & Route (PnR), Simulation, and Signoff tools.
• Work with EDA tools for RC extraction, SPICE simulation, schematic/layout editing.
• Ensure accuracy and availability of library views (LEF, NLDM, CCS, .LIB).
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python, Perl, or TCL.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, VLSI, or related field.
• Hands-on experience in standard cell design and characterization.
• Strong knowledge of EDA tools for extraction, simulation, and verification.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Perl, TCL) for automation.
• Familiarity with timing, power, and noise models (NLDM, CCS, Liberty).
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.

Contract Details

• Duration: 6 months (extendable based on performance and project needs)
• Notice Period: Immediate to 30 days preferred
• Compensation: As per market standards (flexible for the right candidate)
