Store Assistant (Emirati)

The Role
Under the direction of the Service Manager, the Store assistant is responsible for administering the operations of a store. The Store assistant will be responsible for all incoming deliveries, shipment and safe keeping of all stock located within the warehouse. They will ensure inventory items are available when required by controlling and monitoring the movement of all inventory items. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Receives, identifies and verifies a variety of heavy machinery parts • Establishes standards and methods for packaging and storing parts • Ensure parts are kept in good condition and are repaired or replaced as necessary • Selects proper storage areas in bins, racks, shelves, floor or depot areas • Maintains catalogues of available stock items • Uses inventory management software to maintain inventory in line with L-Vis 3.8 & 4.0 requirements • Maintains Manual Stock Issues Report and generate any adhoc reports as and when required • Arranges and labels stock according to company requirements and established procedures • Controls the distribution of supplies and material through inventory control cards and automated systems • Supports the Service Manager in determining the items and quantities of stock to be purchased and maintained • Collaborates with the Service Manager and Procurement Manager in identifying suppliers and obtaining quotes of prices for parts to be purchased. Researches new parts, substitute products and pricing • Prepares purchase requisitions and assigns account codes for the replacement of stock • Maintains records and files such as invoices, order numbers, receiving date and shipping dates • Performs weekly, quarterly, mid and year-end inventory counts • Prepares regular inventory reports, flags any variances to line manager and investigates issues related to stock • Oversees the delivery of parts according to the established schedule • Unloads parts from trucks by hand or motorised equipment • Inspects items for defects, damages and quantity against delivery documents • Resolves discrepancies in requisitions, purchase orders, and delivery reports • Collate information for claims with transport companies and suppliers if parts have been damaged, including all parts under warranty. • Responsible for understanding and practicing appropriate safety procedures as follows: o Act as safely at work as you would elsewhere, if not more so o Use the tools available to you to maintain a safe environment o Participate in the safety training programme to educate yourself on hazards, safety practices, and rules o Communicate about unsafe practices and conditions o Always follow safety rules and regulations

Requirements
The chosen candidate will meet ALL the essential criteria below: ESSENTIAL • High school diploma or above • Strong track record in storekeeping • Well versed in the practices of maintaining inventory such as receiving, storing and issuing materials, supplies, tools, and equipment • Good knowledge of inventory management software • Knowledge of computer systems such as the Microsoft Office suite e.g. Word and Excel • Knowledge of the methods and techniques used to maintain a safe working environment, including the safe operation of materials handling equipment • Experience handling inventory for construction, heavy machinery or plant parts and tools and supplies DESIRABLE • IPAF Operator Licence • Forklift Licence PERSON SPECIFICATIONS: • Ability to fluently communicate in English - both verbally and in writing • Ability and willingness to work in a warehouse environment with occasional work in an office setting and outdoors • Ability to work safely and efficiently under pressure
