TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Inventory & Stock Management
- Receive, inspect, and record delivered materials, ensuring quality and quantity match with purchase orders, delivery notes, and technical documentation.
- Document discrepancies, damages, or shortages promptly, escalating to procurement and logistics teams for corrective action to avoid project delays.
- Ensure systematic storage of materials in designated areas, maintaining optimal organization for accessibility, safety, and efficiency.
- Maintain accurate inventory levels and monitor stock movements to prevent shortages, waste or overstocking.
- Initiate timely replenishment requests in coordination with procurement to maintain continuity of supply.
- Organize storage areas systematically for efficient access and safety compliance.
- Conduct regular physical stock counts and reconcile discrepancies with system records.
2. Issuance & Material Handling
- Issue materials, tools, and equipment against approved requisitions.
- Ensure proper documentation for every issuance, return, or transfer of stock to maintain complete and traceable records of material movements.
- Coordinate with project teams to meet material requirements in a timely manner.
- Oversee proper handling, loading, and unloading of goods to prevent damage.
3. Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain updated records in the inventory management system (ERP or manual logs).
- Prepare stock reports (daily, weekly, monthly) highlighting shortages, slow-moving items, and discrepancies.
- Support audit activities by ensuring all records are complete and up to date.
4. Compliance & Safety
- Enforce safety and housekeeping standards in the store/warehouse.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections and audits to verify conditions, functionality, and availability, ensuring assets are maintained in usable condition and accounted for at all times.
- Report damaged, expired, or non-conforming materials to the procurement and quality departments.
5. Coordination & Support
- Liaise with procurement, logistics, and site teams for material requirements and delivery schedules.
- Provide timely updates on material availability and stock status to project managers.
- Support the logistics team in planning inbound and outbound material flows.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Identify and recommend opportunities for enhancing storekeeping and warehouse operations.
- Implement best practices and process improvements in inventory management, logistics, and material handling to drive efficiency and reduce costs.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Diploma or Technical Certificate in Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
- 3–5 years of experience in warehouse or storekeeping, material management, preferably in construction or engineering projects. Experience in handling bulk construction materials and specialized tools/equipment is preferred
- Knowledge of inventory control systems, ERP software, and MS Office.
- Familiarity with HSE standards, safety regulations, and legal requirements and handling procedures for construction materials.
