Position Overview:
The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing daily retail operations, ensuring excellent customer service, managing staff performance, monitoring inventory, and driving sales. This role requires leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills to ensure the smooth functioning of the baking store while achieving business targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Store Operations Management
Supervise daily operations of the store, ensuring smooth functioning.
Ensure proper opening and closing procedures are followed.
Maintain store cleanliness, layout, and display standards.
Ensure adherence to company SOPs and compliance with policies.
2. Sales & Customer Service
Drive sales by monitoring daily performance and setting targets.
Ensure customers receive high-quality service and quick assistance.
Handle escalated customer complaints and resolve issues effectively.
Implement upselling and cross-selling strategies for baking tools, ingredients, and consumables.
3. Team Management
Supervise cashiers, sales, and support staff.
Prepare staff schedules and assign daily duties.
Conduct regular staff training on product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer handling.
Monitor staff performance and provide feedback to improve efficiency.
4. Inventory & Stock Control
Monitor stock levels and ensure timely replenishment of baking tools, consumables, and ingredients.
Coordinate with procurement/warehouse for restocking and managing shortages.
Check expiry dates of consumables and ingredients; ensure damaged/near-expiry stock is reported and removed.
Maintain accurate stock records and minimize pilferage or wastage.
5. Financial & Reporting
Oversee cash and card transactions handled by cashiers.
Ensure daily sales reports and reconciliations are accurate.
Analyze sales data and prepare weekly/monthly performance reports.
Monitor expenses and ensure cost efficiency in store operations.
6. Marketing & Promotions
Execute in-store promotions and display management.
Provide input on customer preferences and product trends to management.
Collaborate with marketing team to boost walk-in sales and customer engagement.
7. Compliance & Standards
Ensure health and safety standards are followed in handling food-grade products.
Enforce company policies regarding hygiene, staff conduct, and service delivery.
Maintain discipline and professionalism across the store.
