Overview Of The Role
The Store Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall sales performance with a focus on growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction. This role is crucial in ensuring that merchandising standards and store operations are maintained while leading the training and development of store staff. The Store Manager works closely with the team to ensure that customer service standards are met, and that the store meets its sales and profitability targets. The role requires strategic planning to maximize sales and efficient management of resources to ensure the smooth operation of the store.
What You Will Do People Development
- Network, support recruiting, hiring, developing, and retaining high-quality management and associates to fill store profile and succession planning.
- Lead by example, train, develop and provide ongoing feedback and coaching on product knowledge, selling skills, visual merchandising, and delivering the customer experience.
- Organize weekly staff meetings and daily briefings to recap store performance, communicate new company goals and strategies, as well as new store procedures and performance targets.
Customer Experience / Sales
- Ensure an excellent level of customer service is a priority at all times by executing and achieving the Customer Experience consistently through regular assessment, coaching, and follow-up with team.
- Maintain visibility and lead by example on the selling floor to answer customer questions and support all selling functions.
- Implement all visual merchandising standards, directives, promotions, and ensure the overall cleanliness and organization of the sales floor and stockroom.
Drive Sales & Profitability
- Meet or exceed profitability expectations for the store in sales, payroll, shrink, and conversion.
- Create and execute strategies to maximize store sales and control expenses.
Operational Effectiveness
- Control company assets by meeting all loss prevention measures, including the consistent management of inventory, in- and out-bound stock movements, sales, returns, exchanges, and store maintenance.
- Execute and comply with all company policies and store procedures.
Required Skills To Be Successful
- Proven track record in driving sales and profitability results.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and development.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in business English.
- Proficiency in computer applications such as Outlook, Excel, and SAP.
What Qualifies You For The Role
- High school education or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum two years of Assistant Store Manager experience with a proven track record for driving sales and profit results and training and developing a team of individuals.
- Good command of business English (written and verbal) and good computer skills, including Outlook, Excel, and SAP.
- Ability to perform some heavy lifting and be on scheduled shifts that may require standing for a minimum of eight hours.
