Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Store Keeper with a strong background in construction site material management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling all store operations, maintaining accurate inventory records, managing material receipts/issuances, and ensuring proper storage of construction materials, tools, and equipment. The candidate must have hands-on experience working in construction environments and coordinating closely with site teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming construction materials as per delivery notes and purchase orders.
  • Maintain accurate records of material receipts, issuances, and stock levels.
  • Issue materials, tools, and equipment to site teams based on approved requests.
  • Ensure proper storage, labeling, and organization of all construction materials.
  • Maintain daily stock reports and update inventory systems regularly.
  • Monitor material shortages and prepare timely material requests.
  • Handle material returns from site, verify quantities, and update stock records.
  • Prevent damage, loss, or misuse of materials through proper handling and storage procedures.
  • Coordinate with procurement, site engineers, foremen, and project teams regarding material requirements.
  • Conduct periodic physical stock checks and reconcile inventory differences.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety within the store area.

Professional Experience Required

  • Minimum 3–5+ years of experience as a Store Keeper in a construction company.
  • Strong experience handling:
  • Construction materials (cement, sand, aggregates, steel, blocks, wood, etc.)
  • MEP materials, consumables, and tools
  • Heavy equipment spare parts (optional based on company type)
  • Knowledge of stock management, storage practices, and document control.
  • Ability to manage high-volume material movement at busy construction sites.

Requirements

  • Diploma or relevant certification in store management (preferred, not mandatory).
  • Strong understanding of construction materials and site operations.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, ERP systems preferred).
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet site deadlines.
  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience using ERP or inventory management software.
  • Knowledge of material codes and classifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

License/Certification:

  • Minimum G+12 or unlimited DM certification (Preferred)
