Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Store Keeper with a strong background in construction site material management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling all store operations, maintaining accurate inventory records, managing material receipts/issuances, and ensuring proper storage of construction materials, tools, and equipment. The candidate must have hands-on experience working in construction environments and coordinating closely with site teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming construction materials as per delivery notes and purchase orders.
- Maintain accurate records of material receipts, issuances, and stock levels.
- Issue materials, tools, and equipment to site teams based on approved requests.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and organization of all construction materials.
- Maintain daily stock reports and update inventory systems regularly.
- Monitor material shortages and prepare timely material requests.
- Handle material returns from site, verify quantities, and update stock records.
- Prevent damage, loss, or misuse of materials through proper handling and storage procedures.
- Coordinate with procurement, site engineers, foremen, and project teams regarding material requirements.
- Conduct periodic physical stock checks and reconcile inventory differences.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety within the store area.
Professional Experience Required
- Minimum 3–5+ years of experience as a Store Keeper in a construction company.
- Strong experience handling:
- Construction materials (cement, sand, aggregates, steel, blocks, wood, etc.)
- MEP materials, consumables, and tools
- Heavy equipment spare parts (optional based on company type)
- Knowledge of stock management, storage practices, and document control.
- Ability to manage high-volume material movement at busy construction sites.
Requirements
- Diploma or relevant certification in store management (preferred, not mandatory).
- Strong understanding of construction materials and site operations.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Basic computer knowledge (MS Excel, ERP systems preferred).
- Ability to work under pressure and meet site deadlines.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience using ERP or inventory management software.
- Knowledge of material codes and classifications.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
