The Store Keeper will be responsible for maintaining the bakery’s inventory of raw materials, packaging, finished goods and supplies, ensuring stock levels are optimal, storage conditions meet hygiene standards, and accurate records are maintained. The ideal candidate has prior bakery or food-production storekeeping experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming raw materials, ingredients (flour, sugar, yeast, etc.), packaging materials and finished bakery goods; verify quantities and quality against purchase orders.
  • Issue materials and supplies to production or bakery teams based on requisitions and maintain accurate records of issuance
  • Maintain and monitor stock levels, reorder when necessary to avoid stock-outs, and ensure minimum/maximum stock levels are adhered to.
  • Conduct regular stock counts (daily/weekly/monthly), reconcile physical counts with records, and report discrepancies.
  • Implement and maintain FIFO (First-In, First-Out) or similar stock rotation methods to minimize spoilage or expired items (especially important in bakery environments)
  • Ensure that storage conditions (temperature, humidity, cleanliness) meet food safety, hygiene and bakery-specific standards (e.g., proper storage of ingredients, finished goods)
  • Maintain housekeeping and organization of the store/warehouse area – good order, cleanliness, safe access, proper shelving and labelling
  • Maintain accurate record-keeping: bin cards, stock registers, material movement reports, issuance/return logs.
  • Coordinate with procurement/purchasing, production/bakery, QA/food safety and logistics teams to ensure timely supply and minimal disruption.
  • Report damaged goods, expired items, quality issues or stock shortages and follow up for resolution.
  • Assist in audits or inventory reviews, support continuous improvement in stores/inventory control processes.
  • May involve loading/unloading materials, moving stock, working with forklifts/pallet trucks (if applicable) and working shifts as required by bakery operations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience (or as per your requirement) in storekeeping/warehouse role, preferably in a bakery, food production or FMCG environment.
  • Basic education: High school or equivalent; any diploma/certificate in store management, supply chain, materials management is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of bakery raw materials, packaging supplies and storage requirements (an advantage).
  • Familiarity with inventory systems, MS Excel or other stock-recording software.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with multiple teams.
  • Understanding of food safety/hygiene standards is beneficial in bakery context.

Physical ability to handle stock movement, lifting materials, standing for periods, working shifts (early/late) if required
