Role Purpose:
The Storekeeper – Construction is responsible for managing and controlling all materials, tools, and inventory within the project store/warehouse. The role ensures accurate receipt, storage, issuance, and documentation of materials while maintaining proper stock control, safety compliance, and organizational standards. The Storekeeper supports project efficiency by ensuring materials are properly tracked, safeguarded, and available when required, while minimizing losses, discrepancies, and wastage.
Key Responsibilities:

Conduct continuous checks on material validity, ensuring all items are within approved shelf life and expiration dates.

Ensure no materials are issued without following proper procedures, approvals, and required signatures.

Maintain proper organization, sorting, and cleanliness of the store/warehouse area at all times.

Receive incoming stock, verify quantities, and accurately record all materials in the inventory system.

Maintain daily inventory records and provide continuous reporting on all store transactions and project assets.

Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming materials against purchase orders; document, report, and track any damages, shortages, or discrepancies.

Handle and ensure proper documentation for the storage and transportation of hazardous materials in compliance with safety standards.

Maintain warehouse, storage, and records areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.

Tag, code, and track all stored materials and assets, and prepare lists for issued or returned items.

Safeguard and manage storage of documents and confidential files, including maintaining records of approved document destruction.

Report all canceled, damaged, or obsolete items in a timely manner.

Prepare stock issuance and receipt vouchers, ensuring both soft and hard copies are accurately completed and submitted to Head Office in original format.
Required Qualifications & Experience:

High school diploma or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum 2–4 years of experience as a Storekeeper or Warehouse Assistant, preferably in the construction industry.

Strong knowledge of construction materials, tools, and inventory management practices.
