Stores Attendant II - Purchasing Storeroom

  • JOB SUMMARY
    • The Stores Attendant II receives, distributes and ships out materials; sorts incoming, and prepares outgoing, mail. Responsible for transporting linen, hospital supplies, and equipment and maintaining appropriate documentation; performs daily vehicle safety checks & maintenance; schedules routine maintenance. Arranges schedule as Hospital need demands. Represents Hospital at all contract sites. Performs supply distribution and equipment decontamination functions.
  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
    • Education: High School graduate.
    • Experience: N/A
    • Licensure/Certification/Registration: Must be able to pass the Department of Transportation physical examination and have a valid driver's license. Must maintain insurance eligibility by employer's insurance provider.

  • KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    • General knowledge of the principles of receiving, storing and issuing supplies. Principles of packaging, shipping and mail handling. Ability to drive a vehicle with a manual transmission. Understanding of how a (truck) lift gate works & be able to make minor repairs. Ability to drive in all weather conditions in a safe & responsible manner. Must have a working knowledge of safety & traffic regulations. Ability to read and perform mathematic calculations at the high school graduate level; to exchange oral and written communication; to organize and prioritize workload; to work independently or as a team member; to establish good working relationships with co-workers, medical and Hospital staff and exhibit good interpersonal communication skills.

    • READING - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
    • WRITING - Basic: Ability to write simple correspondence.
    • SPEAKING - Basic: Ability to speak simple sentences.
    • MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Basic Skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
    • REASONING ABILITY - Intermediate Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

      • Ability to see, hear, sit, bend, walk, talk; the ability to operate the delivery truck lift gate and to do lifting up to fifty (50) pounds or more. Prolonged, extensive, or considerable standing/walking; lifts supplies/equipment; considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching. Short term exposures to outdoor weather conditions. Must be able to pass the Department of Transportation physical examination.
