Through Circles of Peace, Reparative Panels, transitional housing, and reentry programs, we bring neighbors together to repair harm and create new possibilities.

Position Overview
We are seeking a part-time Storytelling and Media Associate to help share the stories of our programs, participants, and community. This role is responsible for capturing and creating written, photo, and video content that highlights the impact of restorative justice in action. The ideal candidate will be creative, collaborative, and comfortable working with people to document experiences with dignity and respect.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect stories from program participants, volunteers, and staff through interviews, photos, and video
• Produce short written pieces, photo essays, and video clips for use in newsletters, social media, website, and reports
• Support the design of materials that communicate HCRJC’s mission and impact to the broader community
• Collaborate with staff to identify storytelling opportunities tied to events, milestones, and program highlights
• Ensure that all communications reflect HCRJC’s values of equity, dignity, and community-led practice
• Manage basic organization of digital content (photos, video files, story drafts) for easy use across platforms

Qualifications

• Strong writing, photography, and basic video production skills
• Experience interviewing and working with people to share personal stories in a respectful way
• Comfort with digital tools such as Canva, iMovie, or similar platforms
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple small projects
• A collaborative spirit and sensitivity to working with individuals impacted by the justice system
• Prior nonprofit or community storytelling experience is a plus

Compensation and Schedule

• Part-time position, approximately 15 to 20 hours per week
• Pay rate: From $20 per hour
• Flexible schedule, with some evening or weekend hours possible depending on events

Location
Based in White River Junction, Vermont. Hybrid work may be possible, but in-person presence is needed for events and story collection.
