As a member of the Strategic Communications team, our Strat Com Manager develops and executes public relations and communications programs to support business objectives for Cambia's family of brands, with an emphasis on the health plan business in Utah. The position serves as a Utah market media expert, establishing key media relationships and providing strategic communications support and advice across the enterprise – all in service of making our members’ health journeys easier

What You Bring to Cambia:

Qualifications:
  • Strat Com Manager would have a bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or related field and 8+ years of experience in communications or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Some travel required both locally and out of state

Skills and Attributes:
  • Strong writing and editing skills with ability to translate complex, technical information for diverse audiences
  • Strategic and creative thinker who manages multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining composure under pressure
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities, both internally and externally, with strong project management skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of latest communication trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions for reaching audiences across various channels
  • Proven ability to establish and nurture media relationships with reporters and editors, generating earned media coverage
  • Experience monitoring benchmarks, measuring media engagement impact, and analyzing effectiveness of PR initiatives
  • Team player with the confidence and diplomacy to take the lead and guide business partners on communications issues
  • Ability to creatively approach challenges both independently and in teams
  • Health care industry experience preferred

What You Will Do at Cambia:
  • Develop and implement strategic multichannel communications plans, including public relations campaigns, social media strategies, and internal communications
  • Identify innovative brand awareness opportunities through sponsorships, influencer partnerships, awards, speaking engagements, and events
  • Create and distribute strategic communications materials such as news releases, op-eds, talking points, social media content, and blogs across multiple channels. Ensure content is compelling, newsworthy and elevates brand reputation.
  • Provide media training and counseling for executives and internal business partners. Serve as subject matter expert and potential spokesperson for products, services, or brand
  • Build relationships with local, regional, and diverse media outlets to develop meaningful partnerships
  • Manage reactive media requests including developing media statements and prepping spokespeople if needed
  • Play key role in crisis/issue management across Utah market, coordinating rapid response communications and meeting tight deadlines
  • Partner with corporate functions to ensure consistent messaging, educate stakeholders as brand ambassadors, and manage tracking mechanisms to measure communication effectiveness
The expected hiring range for the Strat Com Manager is $100,300 - $135,700 depending on skills, experience, education, and training; relevant licensure / certifications; and performance history. The bonus target for this position is 15%. The current full salary range for this role is $94,000 - $154,000. #LI-hybrid
