Overview:
SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Strategic Accounts Manager – (SAM) handles assigned major and/or National accounts, directs sales activity at these accounts and coordinates all key activity with all applicable territories. The SAM provides updates to Regional Sales Directors/Managers and applicable field sales personnel. This works with Sales Directors and SVP or Sales to develop sales policies and plans including pricing and rebates, develops programs and pricing for major assigned accounts, and develops short- and long-term sales objectives. The SAM also assists in developing sales forecast data for assigned accounts. This position also can exist with or without direct reports, and involves working distributors, OEM’s, and end-users of Shurtape programs, products and services.
Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Strategic planning with executive level and/or sales management contacts at assigned accounts.
  • Is the primary point of contact with top personnel at assigned Strategic Accounts, responsible for developing and maintaining the key relationships critical for short- and long-term success.
  • Set sales objectives and conducts follow up meetings to track and measure results.
  • Assists with distributor sales rep. target planning, training, and call activities.
  • Available to prospect and make end-user calls and product demonstrations.
  • Assists in monitoring and communicating customer needs and making appropriate recommendations
  • Ensures sales objectives are met for assigned accounts
  • Coordinates procedures for soliciting, bidding and execution of contract sales and bids
  • Assists in trade shows
  • Performs various duties as assigned by the SVP Sales and Director of Sales

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Computer skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint experience
  • Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience working with Major Regional partners and/or National Accounts
  • Ability to work with minimum of supervision
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to work well with the public
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to handle stress
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Education/Certification Requirements

o Minimum 4-year college degree

o Valid driver’s license and passport

  • Experience

o Minimum 8-10 years’ experience in industrial and/or packaging sales

o Prior packaging sales and/or equipment service

o SAP experience preferred


PHYSICAL DEMANDS
