7+ years of experience in Purchasing and Supply Chain within a manufacturing/fabrication environment is required

- Expertise in procuring raw materials, mechanical, and electrical components is necessary, including steel, pumps, actuators, etc is preferred
- Base pay is up to $90,000 (depending on experience)
- Expert negotiation skills and strong cross-functional communication are essential
- Must be a United States citizen or Green Card holder
- No remote as this is an on-site position

This full-time, permanent career opportunity is for a Strategic Sourcing & Purchasing Manager at a niche, custom machine manufacturer known for solving customer challenges across critical industries. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead strategic sourcing and negotiation with domestic/international vendors to secure optimal cost and delivery for all materials and components
- Execute the complete PO cycle; analyze requirements, generate purchase orders (using QuickBooks/Excel), and manage flow to ensure on-time production
- Work with Engineering to read technical drawings and develop accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for custom machinery
- Manage supplier performance and risk; vet alternatives, resolve shipping/invoice issues (RMAs), and proactively expedite critical orders
- Maintain efficient inventory and participate in production meetings as the key liaison between the supply chain, manufacturing, and engineering teams
Background of the Successful Candidate:

7+ years of experience in a purchasing and lean manufacturing
- 7+ years in a supply chain role within a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Bachelor's Degree is required
- Proven ability to negotiate pricing and manage complex bids for both routine and high-value purchases
- Experience with procuring various materials common to heavy industry, including steel (sheet, tubing, structural), pumps, actuators, and electrical components
- Must have the ability to read and understand engineering drawings (light and heavy fabrications/machining)
- A solid understanding of inventory control and experience using QuickBooks, MS Excel
- Experience with SolidWorks or other ERP/purchasing software is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional approach to vendor relations
- A solid work history demonstrating stability and progression
- Being a US citizen or green card holder and having a residence within a 45-minute drive of Butler, WI
