Job Role:
The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for managing some or all aspects of sourcing activities to ensure cost-effective procurement of goods and services while maintaining compliance with organizational policies and industry standards. Depending on business needs, this role may include contract negotiation, document execution, market research, and/or managing sourcing events such as RFIs and RFPs. The specialist may also analyze supplier proposals, including financial comparisons, and facilitate the execution of confidentiality agreements (NDAs) to support strategic initiatives.
Required Skills
Must-Have
- 5-8 years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in sourcing tools, contract management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
Good-to-Have
- Experience using SAP Ariba for sourcing events, contract management, and supplier collaboration is strongly preferred.
- A CEFR English score of B2 or higher is required. (C1 preferred)
- Microsoft Excel - high level of competency in Microsoft Excel including creating pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, advanced spreadsheet formatting, etc.
- Tableau proficiency – advanced knowledge including building dashboards, using filters, and building workbooks to support the analysis of large amounts of data.
- Knowledge of procurement of best practices and legal requirements is beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, pricing benchmarks, and supplier capabilities.
- Develop and maintain supplier databases to support sourcing decisions.
- Plan, organize, and manage sourcing events including Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP).
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to define requirements and evaluation criteria.
- Ensure timely communication and documentation throughout the event lifecycle.
- Analyze supplier proposals for compliance with requirements and evaluate financial implications.
- Prepare cost comparison models and total cost of ownership analyses to support decision making.
- Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Partner with internal teams to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.
- Provide regular updates and reports on sourcing activities, supplier performance, and cost savings initiatives.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing, service levels, and risk mitigation.
- Draft, review, and execute contracts in compliance with legal and corporate standards.
- Ensure timely completion and accuracy of all contract documentation.
- Prepare, review, and execute Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and other legal documents.
- Maintain accurate records of executed agreements and ensure adherence to confidentiality requirements.
