Job Summary
The STRIVE (Statewide Targeted Reductions in Intimate Violence) initiative, administered by the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS), aims to reduce intimate partner violence in high-need communities by supporting local law enforcement, prosecutors, and victim service providers.

The STRIVE Coordinator will lead the implementation of a county-wide, multi-disciplinary team focused on applying evidence-based strategies to address intimate partner violence. This role serves as the primary liaison between STRIVE partners and DCJS. The STRIVE Coordinator will work closely with chief executives from the Rochester Police Department, Monroe County Sheriff's Office, Monroe County District Attorney's Office, Monroe County Probation, and the Willow Domestic Violence Center to coordinate efforts and address any barriers preventing the strategy from achieving its desired outcomes.

Required Qualifications:
This position requires a minimum of five years' experience working with evidence-based community violence reduction strategies AND at least 2 years of experience managing grants. The candidate must also have demonstrated experience in successfully partnering with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as with other criminal justice and social services agencies (e.g., probation, parole, corrections, and community support services).


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of social service concepts and evidence-based strategies related to intimate partner violence
  • Ability to collaborate and work effectively with chief executives from government and social service agencies.

Previous work with some or all of the STRIVE task force members is highly preferred (Rochester Police Department, Monroe County District Attorney, Monroe County Office of Probation, Monroe County Sheriff's Office, as well as other relevant partners).
