Structural Design Engineer – Construction

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and develop structural design calculations, drawings, and specifications for buildings and infrastructure projects.

• Perform structural analysis of steel, concrete, and composite structures using relevant software (ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, etc.).

• Ensure designs comply with international codes & standards (ACI, AISC, BS, Eurocode, UBC, etc.).

• Coordinate with architects, MEP engineers, and project teams to integrate structural requirements.

• Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.

• Conduct structural stability and feasibility studies for proposed designs.

• Provide technical support during construction, addressing site queries and design modifications.

• Carry out load calculations (dead, live, wind, seismic) and prepare structural models accordingly.

• Ensure value engineering and cost-effective design solutions without compromising safety.

• Participate in design review meetings with consultants, clients, and contractors.

• Maintain documentation of design reports, calculations, and revisions.

Relevant Experience

• Minimum 3–6 years of experience in structural design engineering within the construction industry.

• Strong knowledge of structural analysis & design software (ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, AutoCAD, Revit Structure preferred).

• Practical experience in reinforced concrete & steel design.

• Familiarity with seismic and wind design requirements.

• Proven track record of working on residential, commercial, or industrial building projects.

• Experience in preparing and reviewing structural drawings, BOQs, and technical reports.

• Ability to coordinate with site teams for design clarifications and ensure execution as per design.

• Good understanding of international and local building codes.
