Job Title: Structural Draftsman

Location: Qatar
Reports to: Structural Engineer / Project Manager

Job Overview

The Structural Draftsman is responsible for creating detailed drawings and blueprints for various structural elements in construction projects, such as buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure. The draftsman works closely with structural engineers and architects, ensuring that the designs adhere to project specifications, local standards, and regulations in Qatar.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare Structural Drawings:

• Develop and produce detailed structural drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and construction details, using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or Tekla.
• Ensure that drawings meet the project specifications and conform to Qatari building codes and safety regulations.

2. Collaboration with Engineers and Architects:

• Coordinate with structural engineers, architects, and other project team members to ensure that the structural designs align with overall project objectives.
• Modify drawings based on feedback or changes in design requirements.

3. Drafting and Detailing:

• Provide detailed reinforcement drawings (rebar detailing), steel connections, and other construction-related components.
• Produce accurate 2D and 3D drawings of complex structures such as high-rise buildings, bridges, and large industrial facilities.

4. Review and Update Drawings:

• Update drawings as per site requirements, making adjustments in design to accommodate any changes or on-site issues.
• Ensure that all drawings are in compliance with the project schedule and deadlines.

Required Skills:

• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, or other structural design software.
• Strong understanding of structural design principles and building materials such as steel, concrete, and timber.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication skills for collaboration with engineers, architects, and construction teams.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or Drafting Technology.

Minimum of 10 years of experience as a Structural Draftsman, preferably in Qatar or the GCC region.
