Structural Foreman – Steel Erection

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Structural Foreman – Steel Erection to supervise and execute on-site erection activities for PEB and structural steel projects. The candidate will be responsible for manpower control, safe lifting operations, alignment, bolting, and coordination with site engineers to ensure smooth and timely erection works.

Key Responsibilities:Erection Works Execution:

• Supervise complete steel structure erection activities including:
• Columns, rafters, beams, bracings, and secondary members
• Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and bolt tightening (torqueing)
• Follow erection sequence and method statements

Lifting & Rigging Operations:

• Handle crane operations and lifting plans
• Guide riggers for safe lifting of structural members
• Ensure correct use of slings, shackles, and lifting tools
• Monitor all heavy lifting activities as per safety standards

Manpower Supervision:

• Lead and manage riggers, fitters, welders, and helpers
• Assign daily tasks based on priority and site schedule
• Monitor workforce productivity and discipline

Coordination with Site Team:

• Work closely with Site Engineer / Senior Site Engineer
• Report daily:
• Work progress
• Manpower status
• Site issues / delays
• Support engineers in achieving daily and weekly targets

Material & Site Readiness:

• Verify availability of:
• Structural materials
• Fasteners and consumables
• Coordinate with store and logistics teams for timely material supply

Quality Control:

• Ensure erection works comply with:
• Approved drawings and tolerances
• Assist QA/QC team during:
• Inspections
• Snag rectification
• Avoid rework by ensuring correct installation

Health & Safety (HSE):

• Enforce strict site safety procedures
• Conduct toolbox talks before work starts
• Ensure proper use of:
• PPE
• Safety harnesses for height work
• Maintain safe lifting zones and prevent unsafe practices

Requirements:Education:

• ITI / Diploma in Mechanical / Civil (preferred)

Experience:

• 5–10 years experience in:
• Steel Structure / PEB erection works
• GCC experience preferred

Technical Skills:

• Strong knowledge of:
• Steel erection sequence and procedures
• Bolt tightening, alignment, and leveling
• Ability to read:
• Basic GA and erection drawings
• Hands-on experience with:
• Cranes, rigging tools, and lifting equipment

Soft Skills:

• Strong team handling and leadership skills
• Good communication with multinational workforce
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
