Job Description:

Structural Inspector

Al Ain ,UAE

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Structural Inspector to join our team! In this role you will get to inspect structural works on the jobsite and performs continuous surveillance of assigned inspection activities to ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards, and specifications.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Responsible for conducting field inspections, tests, evaluations, verifications, and documentation of the inspections within all civil systems,.
• Supports the landscape, electrical and mechanical inspectors with all civil support inspection activities at site.
• Prepares various inspection reports, progress Reports and other site records as required within the Contract or as required by the Client or PMC staff.
• Ensure that all construction works related to civil and structural works are performed in strict accordance with the plans and specifications.
• Maintain a detailed diary of the day’s work activities, issues, work approved or rejected, hours of operation, labour and equipment used, etc.
• Coordinate with the Consultant/Contractor in charge of the work daily to monitor on the performance and proper execution of the work.
• Report questionable methods of operation by the Contractor to the CM or to the Resident Engineer.
• Report to CM or RE any failure of the Contractor to perform the work as per the drawings and specifications and to provide good workmanship.
• Process the Inspection Requests and maintain records of their status.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed by the contractor in case the work is performed on a Day Works basis.
• Act in a professional way but firm in dealings with the Contractor.
• Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

• B.Sc. Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized University
• Min 5 years of experience in building, greenhouses and service utilities projects.
• Must have sound knowledge about contractual relationships.
• Must be fully computer literate and able to utilize computer technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and construction specifications and be thoroughly familiar with construction related processes related to area of assignment.
• Excellent capability in written technical skills as well as oral and written communication skills in English.
