Structural Lead

Position Purpose

The Construction Structural Lead shall be responsible for leading and managing all structural fabrication, assembly, fit-up, and module construction activities for the Project. The role will ensure safe, efficient, and quality execution of works in accordance with project specifications, approved drawings, and schedule requirements while optimizing manpower, equipment, and yard resources.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Management

  • Lead and supervise all structural fabrication and assembly activities within the assigned project area.
  • Ensure fabrication works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, procedures, and project requirements.
  • Coordinate daily production activities to achieve planned targets and milestones.
  • Develop work-front plans and allocate manpower and equipment efficiently.
  • Monitor fabrication progress and implement recovery plans where required.

Site Coordination

  • Coordinate with Engineering, Planning, Material Control, QA/QC, and HSE departments to ensure uninterrupted progress.
  • Identify and resolve construction constraints, material shortages, drawing issues, and interface conflicts.
  • Participate in construction meetings and provide progress updates.
  • Ensure work fronts are available and ready prior to mobilization of fabrication teams.

Productivity & Resource Management

  • Monitor workforce productivity and optimize utilization of manpower and equipment.
  • Assess manpower requirements and coordinate mobilization or redistribution of resources.
  • Ensure effective deployment of supervisors, foremen, fabricators, welders, fitters, riggers, and helpers.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and productivity.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure compliance with project quality requirements, approved ITPs, and applicable standards.
  • Coordinate inspection activities with QA/QC personnel.
  • Monitor fabrication quality and minimize rework.
  • Ensure timely closure of punch points and NCRs.

HSE Management

  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all HSE requirements.
  • Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.
  • Ensure all work activities are carried out under approved permits and risk assessments.
  • Participate in incident investigations and implementation of corrective actions.

Reporting & Progress Monitoring

  • Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly progress against project schedules.
  • Prepare and review construction progress reports.
  • Highlight risks, delays, and resource constraints to project management.
  • Support planning team in developing recovery and acceleration plans.

Module Completion & Loadout Support

  • Coordinate structural completion activities prior to module integration and loadout.
  • Ensure dimensional control requirements are achieved.
  • Support heavy lifting, transportation, weighing, and loadout activities as required.

Educational Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering,

Experience Requirements

Mandatory

  • 10 to 12 years of experience in structural fabrication and construction within the Oil & Gas, Offshore, LNG, FLNG, FPSO, or Modular Construction industry.
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years in a supervisory or lead position managing structural fabrication teams.
  • Experience in fabrication yard operations and module construction.
  • Proven experience in managing structural steel fabrication, assembly, and erection activities.

Preferred

  • Experience in large-scale offshore module fabrication projects.
  • Familiarity with FLNG, FPSO, or offshore platform projects.

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
