Structural QC Inspector

Job Description

The Structural QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all structural fabrication and erection activities are carried out in compliance with approved drawings, project specifications, and international codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect and monitor the structural integrity of structures and equipment at the site on a continuous basis.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documents to ensure structures are constructed as per approved requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, including any modifications or corrective actions.
  • Ensure structural fabrication and erection activities comply with approved drawings and procedures.
  • Conduct inspections for verticality and alignment of structural columns.
  • Perform bolt tightening inspections of steel members.
  • Verify welding activities and ensure compliance with approved welding procedures.
  • Prepare daily and weekly inspection reports, pre- and post-inspection reports, inspection checklists, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
  • Ensure proper implementation of QA/QC documentation, including ITPs, method statements, and procedures.
  • Coordinate with construction and engineering teams to resolve quality-related issues.

Required Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience working in the oil and gas industry.
  • Strong knowledge of international standards and codes such as ASME and AWS D1.1.
  • Proven experience in structural fabrication and erection.
  • Familiarity with various welding processes.
  • Good understanding of QA/QC systems and documentation.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • CSWIP 3.1 Certification (mandatory).
  • Minimum 3–4 years of relevant experience after CSWIP 3.1 certification.
