STRUCTURAL SITE ENGINEER

Key Responsibilities

1. Setting Out & Site Control

• Establish site control points, benchmarks, and reference grids.
• Perform accurate setting‑out for:
• Excavation limits and foundation levels
• Columns, walls, slabs, beams
• PT anchor points and tendon profiles
• Roads, utilities, and external works
• Verify verticality and alignment of structural elements (plumb checks, slab levels, core walls).

2. Survey Monitoring & Verification

• Conduct level surveys, as‑built surveys, and deformation/settlement monitoring.
• Check contractor works against approved drawings and tolerances.
• Monitor shoring, retaining walls, and basement works for movement.
• Prepare as‑built data for structural elements and coordinate with drafting team.

3. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain survey logs, daily reports, and calibration records.
• Prepare as‑built drawings, survey sketches, and coordinate files.
• Ensure all survey data is properly stored, backed up, and traceable.
• Support QA/QC team with survey evidence for inspections and NCRs.

4. Coordination & Communication

• Coordinate with structural, architectural, and MEP teams to avoid clashes.
• Attend technical and coordination meetings when required.
• Communicate survey requirements and constraints to site teams.
• Liaise with subcontractors and ensure compliance with survey standards.

5. Equipment Management

• Ensure all survey instruments (Total Station, GPS, Auto Level, Laser Scanner) are calibrated and maintained.
• Manage equipment inventory and request replacements or servicing when needed.
• Implement proper handling, storage, and safety procedures for instruments.

Skills & Competencies

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Total Station, GPS, Auto Level, and digital surveying tools.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and survey software (Civil 3D, Leica/Trimble software).
• Understanding of structural and architectural drawings.
• Familiarity with Dubai authority standards (DM, DDA, Trakhees, RTA).
• Ability to perform precise setting‑out and as‑built surveys.
