Structural Steel Designer & Estimator

Position: Structural Steel Designer & Estimator
Location: Dubai, UAE

Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed fabrication and erection drawings for structural steel projects.
• Create 3D models and shop drawings using industry-standard software.
• Coordinate between designers, fabricators, and site teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Ensure compliance with AISC, BS, and EN standards for structural steel detailing.
• Review and check drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to project specifications.
• Assist in resolving technical and fabrication-related issues.
• Perform accurate quantity take-offs and weight calculations for steel structures.
• Prepare cost estimates for:
• Steel fabrication
• Surface preparation & painting
• Galvanizing and fireproofing
• Site erection, cranes, manpower, equipment, and transportation
• Prepare detailed pricing sheets, cost breakdowns, and commercial proposals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience in steel structure design, detailing, and estimation.
• Proficient in Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, or similar software.
• Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes, connection detailing, and cost analysis.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
