Structural Supervisor

Position Purpose

The Structural Supervisor shall be responsible for supervising day-to-day structural fabrication, fit-up, assembly, and erection activities within the assigned area. The role ensures that all works are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved drawings, quality requirements, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Supervision

• Supervise structural fabrication, fit-up, assembly, and erection activities in the assigned work area.
• Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and construction procedures.
• Coordinate daily work activities with foremen and fabrication crews.
• Monitor progress against planned targets and report any deviations to the Structural Lead.
• Ensure availability of drawings, materials, tools, and equipment before commencement of work.

Workforce Management

• Direct and monitor the activities of foremen, fabricators, fitters, welders, riggers, and helpers.
• Allocate manpower efficiently to maximize productivity.
• Monitor workforce performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, equipment, and yard resources.

Quality Control

• Ensure fabrication and assembly activities comply with project quality requirements.
• Verify fit-up quality, dimensions, alignment, and workmanship prior to QC inspection.
• Coordinate with QA/QC inspectors for timely inspections and clearance.
• Assist in the closure of punch points and NCRs.
• Minimize rework through proper supervision and adherence to procedures.

Safety Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all HSE requirements and safe work practices.
• Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
• Verify that all personnel use appropriate PPE.
• Ensure work permits, lifting plans, and risk assessments are followed.
• Report unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and near misses immediately.

Material & Equipment Coordination

• Coordinate with Material Control for timely availability of structural materials.
• Monitor proper handling and storage of structural steel components.
• Ensure fabrication equipment and tools are maintained in good working condition.
• Report shortages or equipment breakdowns promptly.

Progress Reporting

• Maintain daily progress records and manpower reports.
• Monitor fabrication quantities and productivity.
• Report work completion status, constraints, and resource requirements to the Structural Lead.
• Participate in daily and weekly progress meetings.

Educational Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent technical qualification.
• Trade certification in Structural Fabrication is an added advantage.

Experience Requirements

Mandatory

• 3 to 4 years of experience in structural fabrication, assembly, or erection activities within Oil & Gas, Offshore, Petrochemical, LNG, FLNG, or Heavy Industrial Projects.
• Experience supervising fabrication crews in a fabrication yard or construction environment.
• Familiarity with structural steel fabrication and assembly processes.

Preferred

• Experience in module fabrication projects.
• Experience working in Middle East fabrication yards.
• Basic understanding of offshore structural construction requirements.

Technical Skills

• Reading and interpretation of structural drawings.
• Structural fabrication and assembly techniques.
• Fit-up and dimensional control awareness.
• Material identification and traceability requirements.
• Basic knowledge of welding and fabrication practices.
• Productivity tracking and reporting.
• Familiarity with QA/QC inspection processes.
• Basic computer skills (MS Excel, Word, Outlook).

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
