EEVS Global is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Subcontractor Accountant to join our finance team in Al Wakrah. This role is essential in managing the financial processes related to subcontractors, ensuring accurate cost tracking, timely payments, and compliance with contractual agreements. The ideal candidate will have strong accounting expertise combined with experience in construction, engineering, or project-based industries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and monitor all financial transactions related to subcontractors, including invoicing, payments, and accruals
- Review subcontractor agreements and ensure proper financial recording in line with contract terms
- Track subcontractor costs against project budgets and identify variances
- Prepare and process subcontractor payment certificates and ensure timely disbursements
- Reconcile subcontractor accounts and resolve discrepancies efficiently
- Maintain accurate records of subcontractor expenses, retention amounts, and liabilities
- Collaborate with project managers, procurement teams, and site engineers for cost verification and approvals
- Assist in preparing cost reports, project financial summaries, and budget forecasts
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to subcontractor accounting
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, accounting standards, and contractual obligations
- Assist auditors by providing subcontractor-related financial documentation
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Proven experience in subcontractor accounting, project accounting, or construction finance
- Strong understanding of contract accounting, cost tracking, and reconciliation processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication skills for coordination with internal teams and external subcontractors
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects
- Familiarity with subcontractor billing processes, retention accounting, and project costing
- Knowledge of IFRS and construction accounting standards
- Professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA are an advantage
