GAINSCO is seeking a Subrogation Demand Specialist to assess, assemble, and pursue recovery demands for vehicle damage, total losses, and PIP/Med Pay. In this role, you’ll evaluate supporting documentation, coordinate evidence collection, conduct investigations to strengthen recovery potential, and manage high-volume communications with internal and external partners. What does a Subrogation Demand Specialist do at GAINSCO?

Assemble complete subrogation demands with supporting evidence for vehicle damage, total loss, and PIP/Med Pay recoveries.
Evaluate documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance (policy forms, estimates, endorsements, expert reports).
Coordinate next steps to secure missing evidence and ensure timely pursuit, development, and recovery.
Conduct additional investigation to identify and strengthen subrogation opportunities.
Manage a high-volume inventory across exposures (vehicle damage, total loss, PIP/Med Pay, BI, UM) and coordinate with vendors.
Handle inbound/outbound calls and communicate professionally with insureds, claimants, attorneys, witnesses, experts, adjusters, and underwriters.
Pursue collections using Arbitration Forums when applicable and support dispute resolution through arbitration processes.
Record and process recovery payments accurately and maintain clear claim documentation.
Follow subrogation best practices, company guidelines, and applicable insurance regulations.

What is required?

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Licenses/ Certifications:

To perform the essential functions of this job an active Texas or Florida Adjuster License will be required to comply with state and GAINSCO requirements.
Upon hire, additional license(s) may be required. If that is the case, license(s) must be obtained.
All licenses must be maintained in accordance with state requirements.
Professional Insurance and/or Claims Designations are a plus.

Experience:

2+ years of auto claims experience.
2+ years of subrogation demand handling experience.
Experience with Guidewire, Decision Point, and other claims systems preferred.

Other skills and abilities:

Strong written and verbal communication skills (business writing, grammar, clarity, professionalism).
Proven ability to work independently while contributing to team goals.
Strong negotiation and decision-making skills using established guidelines.
Ability to manage and prioritize a high-volume workload with accuracy and urgency.
Ability to interpret policy language, estimates, and supporting evidence documentation.
Comfortable learning new systems and working across multiple claim and vendor platforms.
