Substitute ESL Teachers near Irvine

Our accredited institution has been offering quality ESL programs to college-aged international students since 1982 with campuses in Los Angeles, Irvine, and Rowland Heights. We are currently seeking in-person substitute ESL teachers for morning, afternoon and evening shifts at our main campus in Irvine.

1. The morning classes run from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm Monday through Thursday.

2. The Intensive Business English class runs from 1:40 pm to 10:35 pm, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

2. The evening class schedule runs from 5:30 pm to 10:20 pm Monday through Wednesday and 5:30 pm to 8:20 pm on Thursdays.

Teacher Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop individual lesson plans that align with the school curriculum
• Teach adult international students in-person with average class size of 10-15 students
• Design engaging and interactive lessons for adult ESL learners
• Assign homework and projects to students via our online platform
• Administer quizzes and tests
• Grade students' work and provide constructive feedback
• Record attendance and grades using the school's system
• Submit monthly / quarterly reports for private tutoring students
• Attend bi-quarterly faculty meetings & participate in professional development

Teacher Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in the Education field
• Teaching ESL certificates / credentials
• 2+ years ESL/EFL teaching experience (preferred)
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Computer proficiency: MS Office, Google Classroom and Cambridge One
• Ability to learn and navigate new online platform
