Substitute Teacher

Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Substitute Teacher to join our vibrant educational community! This will be on an as needed basis, covering call-outs, vacations, etc. with the opportunity to move to a regularly scheduled part-time position.

In this role, you will step into classrooms across various ages, providing seamless instructional support and maintaining a positive learning environment. Duties

• Deliver engaging lessons based on prepared lesson plans or general curriculum guidelines, ensuring students stay focused and motivated.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively by implementing positive behavior management strategies and maintaining a respectful environment.
• Support students’ individual needs by assisting with literacy, math, and other core subjects, including early childhood education and special education accommodations.
• Foster a safe and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages participation, creativity, and social-emotional development.
• Collaborate with school staff to communicate student progress, behavioral concerns, or special needs such as working with children with autism or those requiring Montessori or preschool approaches.
• Assist with lesson planning and curriculum development when needed to enhance instructional quality.
• Uphold school policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with safety standards and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Prior classroom experience or childcare background required, especially in preschool, early childhood education, or private school environments.
• Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students, staff, and parents.
• Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
• Experience working with children of diverse backgrounds, including those with special needs or requiring literacy or math support.
• Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and tutoring methods is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and grade levels.
