Samena Club is looking for energetic and dedicated counselors to create unforgettable memories at our summer camps. As a counselor, you'll guide young campers aged 5-12 through exciting activities while fostering engagement, maintaining safety, and building lasting friendships. We’re looking for responsible and outgoing candidates who love to be active and working with kids. You'll be more than just a counselor – you'll be a mentor, friend, and role model who helps shape positive experiences that last a lifetime.
We are currently hiring for both Counselors and Lead Counselors.
Our 10-week summer program (mid-June through August) includes activities like:
Swimming and water sports
Arts and crafts
Team sports and games
Singing, counselor skits, and more!
Responsibilities of Counselors & Lead Counselors
Participate in all training sessions and staff meetings, including pre-summer training on 6/13, 6/25, 6/26 (approximately 10am-5pm).
**Training dates are subject to change. Additional training may be required for those without First Aid/CPR training.
Be available for at least 6 full weeks (Mon-Fri) during camp season, June 29-September 1, 2026.
Be available from 8:45 am – 4:15 pm*, Mon-Fri. *Additional hours may be needed for before/after camp care from 7am-9am and 4pm-6pm.
Supervise and lead a group of 7-13 campers (ages 5-12) at our facility using age-appropriate language and practices.
Actively participate in and confidently lead activities including swimming, active outdoor games, indoor games, crafts, skits, and team bonding experiences.
Provide continuous, attentive supervision to ensure campers’ safety and well‑being, while effectively managing smooth transitions between all activities
Develop and maintain positive relationships with campers, families, and staff.
Foster a positive, supportive environment by guiding campers through conflict resolution and effective problem‑solving.
Perform light administrative tasks, such as maintaining attendance records and completing incident reports as necessary.
Consistently maintain thorough and clear communication with fellow counselors and Lead Counselor, as well as with School-Age Program Manager and Children’s Programs Director as needed.
Additional Responsibilities of Lead Counselors
Help plan, set-up, and lead daily activities and skits.
Lead daily morning/afternoon staff meetings.
Promote positive interactions and a supportive environment while assisting management, camp staff, and campers through daily activities, conflict resolution, problem‑solving, and both non‑injury and injury incident reporting
Uphold and exemplify camp rules and standards.
Help monitor daily activities and counselors to ensure the program runs smoothly and that correct practices & objectives are being met.
Ensure campers participating in swim lessons, tennis lessons, or other programs reach their lessons on time.
Qualifications of Counselors & Lead Counselors
Must be at least 16 years old.
Experience working with children in a camp, babysitting or similar setting.
CPR and First Aid certification is preferred. (Training is available if not currently certified)
Positive attitude with strong leadership and communication skills.
Ability to work well in a team environment an collaborate with peers and supervisors.
Ability to pass a background check.
Strong multitasking skills with the ability to supervise children and manage activities simultaneously.
Additional Qualifications of Lead Counselors
Must be at least 18 years old.
At least 2 years’ experience working as a summer camp counselor or equivalent experience.
Ability to effectively solve problems and talk through issues with both fellow counselors and campers.
Ability to confidently lead in a team environment.
Ability to prioritize tasks appropriately to maintain a safe, organized environment.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; swim; use hands to, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
