Join our vibrant Supreme Loyalty Cheer summer camp team as a Summer Camp Counselor and ignite the spirit of adventure, learning, and growth in children and youth! Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children in a variety of camp activities including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor adventures to promote active participation and enjoyment.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers by implementing proper child supervision techniques and adhering to safety protocols.
- Manage group dynamics with effective classroom management skills to foster respectful behavior and teamwork among campers.
- Provide first aid when necessary, responding promptly to minor injuries or health concerns with compassion and professionalism.
- Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance by applying inclusive teaching strategies and behavior management techniques.
- Collaborate with fellow counselors to plan daily schedules that balance structured activities with free play, ensuring a well-rounded camp experience.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper progress, behavior, or concerns to maintain transparency and trust.
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or summer camps is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices to support age-appropriate activities.
- Demonstrated ability in classroom management and behavior management techniques to maintain a positive environment.
- Certifications in first aid and CPR are preferred to ensure preparedness for emergency situations.
- Experience working with children who have special needs or require accommodations is a plus.
- Background in sports coaching, theater arts, or childcare enhances your ability to lead diverse activities confidently.
