Summer Camp Counselor

Summer Camp Counselors are The Robot Garage's elite summer team and the reason our camps are so loved in South East Michigan. We are looking for a few more people to join our returning staff for the 2026 summer season which runs from June 15 to August 28, plus training the week of June 7th. This core team is trained to become experts at leading campers (grades 1-3, 4-6) in a variety of creative STEM projects each week.

Each week up to 100 campers will participate in one of our 4 camp themes; LEGO Masters/Pokemon, Minecraft, Video Game Coding, and Battle Bots. Most camp shifts are 8:30am - 4:00pm M-F, with people taking turns covering before and after care from 8 to 6.

We are looking for candidates with the following qualities:

• Energetic and Outgoing
• Enjoy working with kids (experience with childcare is a huge plus but not required)
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong work ethic and extremely dependable
• Ability to learn and adapt quickly
• A love of LEGO is a plus but not required
• Experience with school robotics teams, game design, coding, and Minecraft are a big plus but not required

Extensive training will be provided. We have been a first job for many young adults, and take that responsibility seriously. We continue to hear from former employees that this was their favorite, most meaningful job and it’s common to see summer staff return for multiple summers as well as school year employment.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
