Summer Camp Counselor – Minecraft & Coding (Elementary School Age)

Position Overview

TOBschool is seeking an enthusiastic and creative Summer Camp Counselor with an interest in Minecraft Education and/or coding (e.g., MakeCode) to lead engaging, hands-on learning experiences for elementary-aged students. This role includes both teaching and collaborating on curriculum design, helping create fun, project-based activities that foster creativity, problem-solving, and foundational STEM skills.

Duties

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate daily Minecraft and/or coding sessions for elementary-aged students
• Help design and develop camp curriculum, including build challenges, coding projects, and themed activities
• Guide students through hands-on, inquiry-based learning experiences
• Support students in problem-solving, collaboration, and creative thinking
• Supervise campers to ensure a safe, inclusive, and positive environment
• Adapt activities to different skill levels and learning styles
• Assist with camp setup, materials organization, and transitions
• Communicate effectively with camp leadership and team members

Requirements

Qualifications

• Experience or strong interest in Minecraft (Education Edition preferred) and/or coding platforms such as MakeCode
• Prior experience working with elementary-aged children (camp, teaching, tutoring, or similar)
• Strong communication and classroom management skills
• Creative, energetic, and collaborative mindset
• Ability to design or contribute to engaging learning activities
• Background in education, STEM, or related field (preferred but not required)
