Camp Augusta is hiring Residential Summer Camp Counselors for an overnight, live-in summer camp in Northern California. This is a full-time seasonal role with housing, food, utilities, training, and certifications included.

This is a full-time, paid seasonal position with housing included, ideal for college students with prior camp, teaching, or meaningful youth experience.

Yes — this role can also be structured for internship, practicum, or fieldwork credit.

What You’ll Do

After extensive paid training, you’ll live onsite and mentor a small cabin of 5 campers (ages 8–16).

A typical day includes:

  • Leading creative, themed “Special Wake-Ups”
  • Teaching activity clinics (choose from 150+ options — circus arts, high ropes, jewelry smithing, farm animals, music, outdoor kitchen & more)
  • Designing daily cabin bonding activities
  • Facilitating meaningful discussions using emotionally intelligent communication
  • Participating in immersive evening programs (yes, costumes happen)
  • Ending each day with reflection and connection

Days are full (7:00 AM – 10:00 PM, 6 days/week). This role requires emotional resilience, stamina, playfulness, and heart.

Minimum Requirements

  • Age 19+ by June 1, 2026
  • Available onsite for May 12 – August 8, 2026
  • One of the following: Prior camp experience, 100+ hours working with youth or a relevant major or career interest.

  • When could you start working? (Earliest = April 1st // Required by May 12th)
  • About 75 hours of remote pre-camp onboarding work is required for this position. This would equate to about 5-8 hours a week leading up to the role, depending on when you were hired. This would be the equivalent of a college-level course and would require work that includes:
