Responsibilities

  • Plan and facilitate a variety of age-appropriate activities including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor games to ensure a fun-filled camp experience.
  • Maintain a safe environment by enforcing safety protocols, supervising children closely, and managing behavior with positive discipline techniques.
  • Support children’s emotional and social development through attentive listening, encouragement, and conflict resolution.
  • Implement classroom management strategies to foster cooperation, respect, and inclusivity among campers.
  • Administer basic first aid when necessary and respond promptly to any medical or behavioral emergencies.
  • Collaborate with fellow staff members to coordinate daily schedules, special events, and themed activities that enhance the camp experience.
  • Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding camper progress and any concerns that arise during camp sessions.

Skills

  • Strong classroom management skills with the ability to guide children’s behavior positively.
  • Experience in early childhood education or working with children in daycare or camp settings.
  • Knowledge of child development principles to support diverse needs including special education considerations.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly using first aid skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, and team members effectively.
  • Passion for working with children through tutoring, babysitting, childcare, or sports coaching roles.
  • Familiarity with behavioral management techniques and childhood development best practices.
  • Enthusiasm for leading group activities such as theater productions or sports coaching that promote teamwork and confidence.
