Summer Camp Instructors - Coding and STEM Camps

STEM Summer Camp Counselor

Date posted: February 11, 2026

Pay: $15.50 - $16.75 per hour

Job description:

Code Ninjas is the nation’s fastest-growing kid's coding franchise. We teach kids ages 5-14 coding by making it fun and accessible – by playing and building video games they love. We make sure that kids have a blast and can’t wait to come back and make sure parents are thrilled seeing children gain confidence and learn skills including coding, math, logic, and problem-solving.

Our core promise is simple: Kids have fun, parents see results. We believe in this motto so much that it’s written on the walls in our center!

About the Role

We’re looking for energetic, tech-savvy, and inspiring Summer Camp Coding Counselors to join our team! If you love working with kids, are passionate about STEM, and enjoy gaming, coding, or digital creation, this is the perfect summer job for you.

As a counselor, you’ll lead week-long camps where kids learn skills like game development, robotics, 3D modeling, and more...all while having fun in a safe, supportive environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Coach & mentor 10–20 campers each week in engaging, hands-on STEM and coding activities (Minecraft, Roblox, robotics, 3D modeling, etc.).
  • Create an awesome experience where kids feel safe, confident, and excited to learn.
  • Assist with setup & tech support, including troubleshooting devices and helping students log in.
  • Keep things running smoothly by helping with organization, cleanup, and equipment maintenance.
  • Communicate & collaborate with the Camp Director and fellow counselors to ensure each day is a success.
  • Participate in paid training the week of June 15–19 to prepare for summer camps.
  • Lead camps between June 22 and August 28 (Monday–Friday). Typical shifts are 8:00 AM–12:00 PM or 11:30 AM – 3:30 PM.
  • Counselors should be available for the majority of the 9 weeks of camp, preferably 8 of the 9 camp weeks.

Qualifications

  • Experience with technology, coding, robotics or gaming:
  • For example: MakeCode Arcade, Python, Minecraft Modding or Redstone, Roblox Game Development, LEGO Robotics, 3D Printing, Digital Art, Stop Motion, or Video Editing
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • A problem-solver who adapts quickly and thinks on their feet
  • Comfort with technology setup and troubleshooting
  • Experience working with kids ages 5–14 (babysitting, tutoring, coaching, mentoring, etc.).
  • Ability and patience to work with children of differing learning styles and abilities, including neurodivergent learners.
  • A team player who’s enthusiastic, dependable, and brings positive energy every day
  • Must be fun, flexible, and ready to make an impact!
