Job Summary

Big Blue Swim School is a fast-growing, mission-driven company that aims to show kids they can do anything by unlocking their full potential in the water. Big Blue has more than 50 open locations providing children’s swim lessons across the U.S., with over 250 additional franchise locations sold.

We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented HR & Recruiting Intern to support our team this summer. This is a part time position (20 hours per week) scheduled from 9am – 1pm Monday through Friday starting June 8th. This is a hybrid position that occasionally works from our Chicago loop office location.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Draft, format, and post job listings across internal and external job boards
  • Process and track candidates through the applicant tracking system (ATS), ensuring records are accurate and up to date
  • Coordinate and communicate with candidates throughout the interview and selection process
  • Prepare and send offer letters under the guidance of the HR team
  • Initiate and monitor background check requests, following up as needed to keep hiring timelines on track
  • Assist with onboarding paperwork for new hires, including collecting required documentation and ensuring completion before start dates
  • Schedule and coordinate HR compliance training for new and existing employees
  • Maintain organized, accurate HR files and records in accordance with company policy
  • Support the broader HR team with administrative tasks and special projects as assigned

Job Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree program in HR, business, psychology, or a related field
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Self-starter with a proactive attitude and willingness to learn
