A warm, organized family is seeking a reliable and proactive nanny to support their two school-aged children (ages 10 and 8). This role begins with full-time summer hours and can transition into a part-time after-school schedule during the school year if you are seeking a long-term role and are comfortable with reduced hours. The ideal candidate is structured yet easygoing—someone who enjoys staying active with kids, values independence, and can help keep the household running smoothly.

This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys planning engaging days, encouraging learning outside of school, and helping children stay active and organized.

Schedule

Summer Schedule (Mid–Late May Start) Monday–Friday 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Pay: $900/week

School-Year Schedule Approximately 20 hours per week

Children are typically out of school around 4:00 PM

There is some flexibility with scheduling during the school year depending on the candidate’s availability.

Children

The family has two school-aged children (10 and 8 years old) who are active, curious, and enjoy structured days.

10-year-old:

  • Organized and responsible
  • Loves reading and planning
  • Highly committed to sports and swimming
  • Enjoys being involved in meal planning and routines

8-year-old:

  • Energetic and playful
  • Loves basketball and being outdoors
  • Benefits from structure and staying busy
  • Would benefit from continued reading practice over the summer

The family is looking for someone who can keep the children engaged with activities, learning opportunities, and outdoor play while minimizing screen time.

Responsibilities

This role is a combination of childcare and light family assistant tasks.

Childcare Duties

  • Supervising and engaging the children throughout the day
  • Taking children to swim team in the mornings (around 9 AM–12 PM)
  • Planning outings such as library visits, parks, and outdoor activities
  • Scheduling and coordinating playdates
  • Encouraging reading and light educational activities during summer months
  • Supporting school work and reading practice
  • Keeping children active and off screens when possible

Household Support

  • Preparing simple meals and snacks for the children
  • Light meal prep for the family when helpful
  • Children's laundry
  • Running occasional errands
  • Helping maintain general household organization
  • Tidying play areas and shared spaces used during the day

The family appreciates someone who can take ownership of the day and work independently—planning activities, anticipating needs, and helping keep things running smoothly.

Driving & Transportation

Driving will be required for this position.

  • The nanny will use their own vehicle
  • The family is open to reimbursing mileage for driving on the job

Compensation & Benefits

  • Summer pay: $900 per week
  • School year pay: Up to $21/hour depending on schedule and experience
  • Paid summer holidays

The family is open to payroll service or cash payment depending on candidate preference.

Household Environment

  • No pets in the home
  • Additional household services such as cleaning and gardening are handled separately
  • The home environment is organized, structured, and relaxed

Length of PositionThis family is looking for a long-term nanny relationship that begins with the summer schedule and continues into the school year with a reduced schedule.
