SUMMER SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS

Job Summary

Duties

• Assist teachers in managing classroom activities, ensuring smooth transitions and active participation
• Support students with their assignments, homework, and creative projects through tutoring and mentoring
• Help implement behavior management strategies to promote respectful and inclusive classroom environments
• Supervise children during breaks, lunch periods, and recreational activities to ensure safety and engagement
• Provide basic first aid when necessary and follow safety protocols to maintain a secure environment
• Support special education needs by adapting activities and providing individualized assistance
• Lead or assist with extracurricular activities such as sports, theater productions, or arts & crafts to enrich the summer experience

Qualifications

• Passionate about working with children and committed to fostering a positive learning environment
• Experience or training in early childhood education, childcare, or related fields is preferred
• Knowledge of classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
• Ability to handle emergency situations calmly using basic first aid skills
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, children, and parents
• Previous experience in camp settings, tutoring, babysitting, or youth programs is advantageous
• Enthusiastic about supporting childhood development through engaging activities and mentorship
