Job Title: Commercial Construction Superintendent

Location: Memphis, TN

Reports To: Principals at Linkous Construction and Manager of Field Operations

Employment Type: Full-Time

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead and oversee all aspects of field operations for large-scale commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate will bring at least 10 years of superintendent experience , a strong background in managing complex builds, and advanced proficiency in construction technology and project management tools. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining a safe work environment.

Key Responsibilities

To perform in this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily, enforce all OSHA safety requirements/guidelines, as well as all company policies and procedures. The Superintendent will be held directly accountable for safety performance. The essential functions include but are not limited to: 

• Work with Project Manager in preparation of project schedule and work sequencing.  
• Develop and implement recovery strategies to maintain project schedule. 
• Become thoroughly familiar with the plans, specifications, contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, daily correspondence, shop drawings, and all documents related to the project. 
• Understand and enforce company safety policies.
• Conduct meetings with subcontractors and others as appropriate in order to inform, coordinate and direct work. 
• Assure accurate completion of all documentation including safety reports, payroll preparation, labor unit report. 
• Inspect the work of employees and subcontractors to ensure construction conforms to requirements of the Contract Documents and the quality needed to build repeat business. 
• Oversee and make decisions related to the performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and trade employee staffing levels. 
• Oversee work among trades to promote coordinated project operations. Resolving problems regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequate labor and equipment schedule and all other appropriate matters. 
• Supervise and develop Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and/or Interns.
• Communicate with owners and architects/engineers regarding any issues that arise in the field. Investigate and resolve such issues. 

Education

Associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management or engineering is preferred. 

Experience

10 plus years of progressively responsible experience on Commercial Construction Projects and management of field personnel. A demonstrated ability to have successfully managed ground up commercial projects.
