ROLE PURPOSE
As a Store Manager, you will be responsible for leading the overall supermarket operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, maximising sales and profitability, maintaining operational excellence, and driving team performance. You will oversee all store functions including sales, customer experience, inventory management, merchandising, food safety, financial performance, and staff development while ensuring compliance with company policies and European retail standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform any additional duties assigned by senior management.
Manage store budgets, operating expenses, and cost control initiatives.
Lead periodic stock takes, inventory audits, and operational inspections.
Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming shopping environment.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational and management reports.
Foster a positive, professional, and high-performance work environment.
Ensure FIFO and FEFO stock rotation procedures are consistently followed.
Ensure pricing accuracy and promotional compliance throughout the store.
Monitor operational risks and implement corrective actions where necessary.
Ensure accurate cash management, banking procedures, and POS operations.
Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and health regulations.
Ensure proper staffing levels, workforce planning, and efficient shift scheduling.
Ensure accurate stock management, inventory control, and shrinkage prevention.
Coordinate promotional campaigns, seasonal activities, and new product launches.
Ensure products are properly displayed, priced, labeled, and replenished at all times.
Supervise receiving operations to ensure accuracy of deliveries and documentation.
Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and external service providers when required.
Analyze sales reports, inventory reports, labor costs, and operational performance data.
Conduct regular employee performance evaluations and implement development plans.
Address customer concerns, complaints, and service recovery professionally and promptly.
Monitor waste levels and implement initiatives to reduce losses, damages, and expired products.
Monitor daily sales performance and implement action plans to achieve business objectives.
Recruit, train, coach, motivate, and develop store employees and department supervisors.
Maintain excellent visual merchandising standards throughout all supermarket departments.c
Achieve sales, profitability, productivity, and operational KPIs established by management.
Monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing overstock and stock shortages.
Work closely with finance regarding sales reconciliation, cash handling, and store financial controls.
Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
Ensure confidentiality of company information, financial data, customer information, and operational reports.
Ensure compliance with company policies, operational procedures, and UAE regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with purchasing, warehouse, and inventory teams regarding replenishment requirements.
Support company expansion initiatives, operational improvement projects, and business development activities.
Lead the overall daily operations of the supermarket to ensure smooth, efficient, and profitable business performance.
Collaborate with HR regarding recruitment, onboarding, attendance, disciplinary matters, and employee engagement.
Deliver an outstanding customer shopping experience by maintaining the highest standards of service and store presentation.
QUALIFICATIONS
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
Strong financial management and budgeting skills.
Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
Ability to communicate fluently in English is required.
Excellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
Professional appearance, attitude, and leadership presence.
Arabic language skills or additional languages are an advantage.
Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
Knowledge of inventory control, stock management, and loss prevention.
Experience with ERP systems, POS systems, and retail management software.
Good understanding of inventory management, merchandising, and retail operations.
Minimum 5–8 years of experience in supermarket, hypermarket, premium retail, or FMCG operations.
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Commerce, or a related field is preferred.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and decision-making abilities.Proven ability to achieve sales targets and operational KPIs.
Experience in premium supermarkets, European retail brands, luxury grocery stores, or international retail chains is highly preferred.
Minimum 3 years of experience in a Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager role.Strong leadership and people management skills.
WORK CONDITIONS
Requires standing and walking throughout the store for extended periods.
Rotational shifts, weekends, and public holiday work are required based on business needs.
Daily use of ERP systems, POS systems, Microsoft Office applications, and operational reporting tools.
Responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, customer-focused, and commercially successful store environment.
Frequent coordination with finance, purchasing, warehouse, HR, suppliers, quality assurance, and senior management.
May require extended working hours during peak trading periods, promotions, audits, inventory counts, and seasonal campaigns.
Full-time position based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.Supermarket-based leadership role with daily interaction across all operational departments.
