Purpose of Position:
The role of Supervisor/ Estimator will collaborate closely with operations to oversee and manage building projects from start to finish. The Supervisor/Estimator will be responsible for coordinating all aspects of building and construction, scheduling, communication and ensuring compliance with Queensland building codes, industry standards and legislative requirements, including WPHS and QBCC regulations.

• Work Safely at Heights (RIIWHS204E) ticket (Mandatory).
• Compliance with police check and drivers licence check requirements.
Key Experience and Capabilities
• Trade Qualified Builder: 5 years plus experience in trade works (Roofing).
• Proven experience in the insurance building industry.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management:
• Lead and oversee construction projects, ensuring timely and successful completion while adhering to budget and quality standards.
• Develop in-depth project knowledge to plan for material procurement, equipment allocation and trade assignments.
• Monitor and manage client Key Performance Indicator (KPI) requirements to ensure satisfaction.
• Report directly to the Construction Manager and collaborate with Operations Management to improve systems and processes.
• Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with both existing and prospective clients.
• Build and sustain strong working relationships with subcontractors.
• Prepare and review Scope of Works, quotes and insurance causation assessment reports.
• Communicate directly with insured parties, insurers, private customers and trades to manage project outcomes effectively.
• Ensure full compliance with WPHS, QBCC, Australian Standards and the National Construction Code (NCC) in all project activities.
• Interpret and explain plans and contractual terms to clients, administrative teams and subcontractors.
• Provide guidance and support to administrative staff, supervisors and estimators.
• Prepare budget estimates and track costs against project budgets.
• Negotiate revisions and additions to contracts as necessary.
• Develop, monitor and manage project budgets to ensure financial success.
Scheduling and Coordination:
• Manage multiple construction projects simultaneously to ensure timely completion within budget.
• Organise project tasks and develop schedules that align with company priorities.
• Delegate tasks to team members based on their expertise and project requirements.
• Keep stakeholders informed with regular project status updates.
• Encourage collaboration across departments to ensure project success.
• Monitor and adjust schedules and project deliverables to optimise results.
• Collaborate with proposal teams to create cost estimates and project plans.
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project progress and outcomes.
Communication:
• Maintain a professional and approachable telephone manner when dealing with clients, customers, and stakeholders.
• Respond promptly and effectively to client, customer and trade inquiries.
• Handle customer concerns and complaints in a constructive and professional manner.
• Manage business correspondence and maintain clear lines of communication across teams.
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with team members, subcontractors and other departments.
Organisation and Administration:
• Ensure that all projects are accurately entered into project management software and allocated with appropriate task reminders.
• Organise office files for easy access and retrieval by team members.
• Maintain both digital and physical files, ensuring they are properly stored and accessible.
Technology and Software:
• Proficiently use Microsoft Office programs (Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant software such as Prime, Xero, Build Xact, and company-specific portals.
• Conduct online research as needed for project-related tasks.
• Use billing and time software to input client and employee data.
• Prepare for and attend online meetings using video conferencing tools.
• Operate office equipment, including fax machines, printers and copiers.

This role may require the incumbent to travel locally, regionally or interstate as required, in line with the responsibilities of the role.
QBCC Licence Requirements:
The QBCC is a statutory body established under the Queensland Building and Construction Commission Act 1991 (QBCC Act) to regulate the building industry.
Supervisors will be required to have the relevant licence to carry out the responsibilities of the role. Please visit the QBCC website for further information on legislation, licensing and the Building and Construction Industry requirements.
Police Check Requirements:
As part of the recruitment process candidates may be required to undergo a police check and a driving licence check.
