Supervisor Maintenance

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead daily scheduled and non scheduled maintenance for our food manufacturing plant. The role ensures smooth, efficient, and uninterrupted operation of production equipment, specialised systems, facilities, and infrastructure.


This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in food manufacturing or large-scale/automated production environments who is well versed in supervising multicultural teams.

Job Purpose:


The jobholder will be responsible for assigning and carrying out the daily activities for scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance work to ensure maximum efficiency of all resources. Ensuring the continuous functioning of the Engineering department within EKFC. Effectively overseeing the accomplishment of tasks related to specialist systems/facilities management/general maintenance and fire safety.


Key Result Areas:


  • Ensure adherence to all safe working practices in accordance with safety legislation. Ensuring the operational safety of all employees, equipment and assets at all times.
  • Ensure adherence to all quality systems and Policy in accordance with ISO 9001:2001 international standards and Company Policy. Ensuring the quality standards are met by all employees at all times.
  • Respond to breakdown notifications in a timely manner and escalate issues which may arise.
  • Prioritise maintenance job requests and urgency of job and arrange corrective actions.
  • Communicate any new work requests to the concerned parties.
  • Supervise the work tasks and assist where necessary for maintenance issues.
  • Carry out repairs ensuring cost effective, timely resolutions in accordance with department requirements guidelines and budget constraints.
  • Prepare contingency plans with local suppliers for Urgent items only.
  • Report any stock and supplies shortages to line managers ensuring correct stock levels are maintained consistently.
  • Carry out adequate supervision of all junior engineering and technical staff at all times.
  • Maintain continuity of work by attending all briefing sessions.
  • Inform Line managers of any equipment issues and report on equipment breakdowns to ensure optimum output at all times.
  • Act as a role model within the department by adopting a positive attitude at all times.
  • Maintain excellent communication platforms with peers and colleagues at all times.
  • Propose and implement improvements to work procedures.


Knowledge, Skills & Minimum Experience:


Education Qualification:

• An engineering Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering from a recognised body.


Work Experience:

• 7 years of relevant experience in either a Catering, Facilities or Project Management environment. • Experience working within a team.


Skills:

• Ability to stay calm in Emergency situations.

• Ability to Multi task.

• Ability to work under pressure.

• Ability to troubleshoot problems associated with maintenance and breakdown issues.

• Good written, verbal, and communication skills.

• Ability to set priorities and assign work to others.

• Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.
