Supplier Quality Engineer

• Supplier Qualification & Auditing: Evaluating potential suppliers, conducting factory audits (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949), and onboarding new vendors to meet quality requirements. Quality Planning & Control: Developing quality control plans, inspection criteria, and control plans for incoming materials and components. Issue Resolution: Leading root cause analysis (RCA) (using tools like 8D) for defects, implementing Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), and managing non-conformance reports. Performance Monitoring: Tracking supplier quality metrics, maintaining supplier performance databases, and reporting on quality trends. Supplier Development: Providing training, guidance, and support to suppliers to improve their processes and performance. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working with internal teams (engineering, procurement, production) and external suppliers to align on quality expectations. Documentation & Compliance: Ensuring all supplier quality activities and records comply with internal policies and external regulations. New Product Introduction (NPI): Supporting the quality aspects of new product launches by assessing supplier readiness and processes.
