Job Summary:
Envision Technology, an innovative small business providing advanced electro-optical solutions for defense applications, seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer with a strong mechanical background. The Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of products and services provided by external suppliers. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the high standards of our organization and mitigating risks associated with the supply chain.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments of potential suppliers, including on-site audits, to evaluate their quality systems, manufacturing processes, and overall capabilities.
- Analyze supplier performance data to identify areas for improvement and make informed decisions regarding supplier selection and qualification.
- Collaborate with suppliers to identify and implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality issues.
- Provide technical guidance and support to suppliers to improve their quality systems and processes.
- Conduct training programs for suppliers on quality requirements, industry standards, and best practices.
- Monitor supplier performance through regular inspections, audits, and reviews of incoming materials.
- Investigate and resolve quality issues related to supplier-provided products or services.
- Implement and maintain effective quality control systems for incoming materials, including receiving inspection, sampling plans, and testing procedures.
- Identify and assess potential quality risks associated with the supply chain.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate supply chain risks, such as supplier diversification and contingency planning.
- Continuously seek opportunities to improve supplier quality and performance.
- Drive process improvements within the supplier quality function to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all supplier quality activities, including audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
- Maintain Supplier Scorecards.
- Other production tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- 5 years of experience in Supplier Quality Engineering or a related field.
- Strong understanding of quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Experience with conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred.
- Strong knowledge, interpretation, and implementation of GD&T, preferred.
- Experience with Interferometric experience, preferred.
- Ability to move up to 25 pounds.
