Position Overview:

As part of the talented Supplier Quality Team as a Supplier Quality Technician, you will work collaboratively and independently within the Global Supplier Quality department supporting the manufacturing process. In this position, you will assist with maintaining and analyzing data related to supplier quality, material containment, sorts, inspections, management and disposition of non-conforming materials, and other tactical duties as directed by the supplier quality manager and/or supplier quality engineers.

You will work cross-functionally with managers, engineers, supervisors, technicians, and production employees as you own and manage assigned supplier-quality projects and processes. As a result, the Global Supplier Quality team depends on the Supplier Quality Technician to efficiently and effectively carry out such tactical and factory-related activities to support continual improvement and the ongoing quality of factory production as related to procured components and assemblies.

Essential Functions:

Tactical Supplier Quality:

  • Independently, and in collaboration with assigned suppliers within the global supply base, process and execute quality activities. Maintain strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with internal / external customers to understand any quality impact to production and to disseminate information as directed by the Supplier Quality Manager or Supplier Quality Engineers.

Factory Support:

  • Under direction of others, execute necessary activities to evaluate supplied components are compliant with engineering specifications prior to release for production. During episodes of supplier quality spills, support NCM management activities to eliminate risk of use on out of specification components.

Continuous Process Improvement:

  • Independently and/or in collaboration with internal working partners, define, measure, analyze, improve and control processes, programs and supplier performance to effectively, efficiently and proactively achieve strategic business initiatives and/or key performance indicators.

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or Technical Diploma in Quality, Industrial Engineering or a closely related business field or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • 3+ years’ experience in a manufacturing, operations, quality engineering environment, required
  • Working knowledge of blueprint analysis including some experience with basic GD&T
  • Quality concepts: basic quality tools and problem-solving techniques

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years experience in engine or engine component manufacturing or assembly, preferred
  • ASQ certification as CQT or higher, preferred
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt training with project experience, preferred

Business Travel Expectations:

  • This position will require very infrequent domestic day and/or overnight travel by auto or airplane, up to 15%.

The anticipated pay range for this position is $53,100 to $83,800 annually. The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job- related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.
